Silly Bee

So tonight I was laying in bed looking at the “silly bee” my son made me at school today and i literally started to get upset. No, not because my son made a bee that look like he had too much sambuca in his honey, but I just pictured him trying to figure out what he was doing.
I get sad thinking about him there sometimes. Making a stupid bee. He doesn’t know what he’s doing or why he’s doing it… Like he probably is so sad with out mom and dad there.
Then I start freaking out and weird thoughts start running through my mind. Like: “does he wonder if he’s being forced into manual labor? Or, why am I sitting here at this table with this glue? Why can’t I can’t get up and play? I just want to play.”
I know, I know… I’m ivertored and need some sleep. My parent brain is starting to overheat. It’s constantly in worry mode lately. But I guess that’s what being a parent is all about… Worrying and learning to like KidzBop.
Birthday Love
What a week it’s been… My Book gets the approval for publishing, my article on autism/spectrum disorder is published by an Autism National Publication, I was featured on the UK’s #1 Parent Blog Website, have had over 2,000 visitors to my blog this week alone from over 25 different countries, and yet the above is still the best thing to happen to me all week.
Thx little guy for #1 remembering and #2 the awesome gift.
My First Book

I’m so excited to announce that my book will be available in January. Letters From Dad: Thoughts on Fatherhood, Family and Life. The book will include about five stories by me and also a collection of other stories from various authors.
The hope is this will be the first book in a series of books titled: The Dad Blogger Book Series. These books will be a handy reference that will find new relevance as children grow.
The Dad Blogger Book Series is a collection of short stories, letters, or articles written by dad bloggers to lend advice, experience, or humor to parents covering different areas of the parenting journey from different viewpoints. The idea is not a comprehensive encyclopedia but a good read with varied topics that can be built on with additional books in the future.
Once I have more info on the release I’ll post it.

That time my kid was sick and finally stopped screaming when he curled up on the dog bed and fell asleep:

“First you bring this smelly thing home. Then you give him all the attention and love. Now he gets my bed?? Screw this, I’m out!!!” -Max the Dog
Try putting a toddler down on a normal night, let alone on a day when he feels like crap. It’s literally an impossible task. I’d rather spend the two hours trying to herd valaceraptors than what I went through getting Jax to bed tonight.
Weekend Dad Thoughts

How many times do I need to read Ears Are Not For Pulling before these poor dogs catch a break?
Pretzel goldfish do not swim if you throw them in the pool no matter how much you yell at them.
What’s the point of socks for a two year old. They stay on as long as it takes for me to put the other sock on his other foot.
